Email marketing can be a cool way to get in touch with your audience, and it’s a way to bring people into your sales funnels. However, emails can get rather boring, especially if you send dozens of them out to the same people. Eventually, a plain white background isn’t good enough to get your customer’s attention. 

But there are a few different ways to spice up your email marketing design and bring your customers back into the fold, and they don’t require you to be a good artist or graphic designer to get your design to the next level. 

Several email marketing designs require little to no artistic effort to bring to life, and you’ll be able to make sure that your marketing will be spiced up.

Make it interactive

One of the best ways to make emails enjoyable is by making them interactive. If your customers don’t have to click on ten different links to get from your email to the landing page, then it’s quicker and more comfortable for them. By having order forms or product catalogs inside the emails you send, it makes shopping easier for your customers.

They can add things to their cart directly inside the email, and with one click, get sent to their cart on the website where they can make a purchase. This makes things much more comfortable as they won’t need to click around your website to find the latest deals. Instead, everything is inside the email.

Use more color

Color in emails used to be very frowned upon, even for marketing, but now it is making a comeback. You can use color to draw attention to your call to action, any sales or deals you are showing off, and some blocking to separate different walls of text.

Most people tend to use color at the heading and footing of their email, while the rest of the email is blank white. However, combining colors throughout the email can help your readers stick with the email and keep reading. 

Designing your email with color can take a bit to get right, depending on your logo’s color and how you want to organize your information. But if you can get the design working, then it’s a great marketing tool to have in your arsenal.

Incorporate everything you need

Most marketers tend to have links or icons to social media at the bottom of the email. You can take it a step further by putting your social into different parts of your email. You can place it beside your call to action for those social media websites, and then your customers will be more than likely to click on it. Instead of scrolling all the way down to the bottom and forgetting why they wanted to click on the social icon in the first place. 

If you are emailing about your new video that shows off a new product, then you can have the video embedded in the email. They won’t have to go anywhere to view it and can simply click to see your content. Just be careful to embed the videos correctly, so they don’t have to be put into the email spam checker!

Change your email structure

One email design idea that you can quickly implement is changing up the structure of your email, both with how you present them and with when you share them with your audience. Most of your marketing emails probably come with the following structure:

  • A greeting 
  • Information or the body of the email
  • A marketing offer or call to action
  • A conclusion

It’s a good structure, but it can get a bit formulaic at times. So why not change it up? If you’ve got a new product, why not have your call to action at the very top of your email and have the introduction following that?

Or start things off with the body of your email and draw the reader in before introducing yourself and sharing your call to action. It might seem a bit unorthodox to change up how your emails look, but it can surprise your audience too. And a surprised audience is an audience that will keep reading your stuff.

Finally, you can also change up the pace at which you send your emails. If you already send your emails on a Thursday morning, try to send a few emails on Tuesday or Wednesday. Or if you always send your emails in the evening, send some in the morning. It’s an unexpected move, especially if you’ve been sending emails on the same schedule for several months or years.

If you can keep your customers on their toes, you’ll keep their interest. If they are interested, then you can bet that they will read more of your content

Use graphics

Using graphics can be another cool design feature that can bring people to your emails. Try to find or design some charts, widgets, or other items to enhance the words in your email. People’s eyes are drawn to graphics, so having a few to break up walls of text or offers can help you keep your reader’s attention.

Finding free graphics or making your own isn’t that hard, even if they are purely decorative and don’t provide any extra information. If you can make graphics that help you share your message or support any facts you are trying to make, then you’ll have another way to connect with your audience.

Keeping your audience reading

It might not seem like it matters, but a good email design can really bring your readers in and keep them reading. So every email you send should have some element of design. Whether you make a cool graphic or color scheme or make the email interactive with widgets to your social media and shopping cart, it will keep your customers engaged. 

So make sure that you have a good email design, and soon your email open and conversion rates will shoot up. That, in turn, means more customers and money for you, all because you made a few small design changes!
